EUDR due diligence statement

A due diligence statement is a mandatory declaration under the EUDR confirming that a product is deforestation-free and legally produced, backed up by verifiable data on geolocation, supply chain documentation, and risk assessments.

Each due diligence statement must be submitted through the EU's centralized information system before a product can be placed on or exported from the EU market. The statement includes the HS codes of the products, geolocation coordinates of the production plots, the country of production, and confirmation that due diligence has been carried out. Operators must retain these statements and supporting documentation for at least five years, and competent authorities can request them at any time for verification.
