Wood, paper and packaging under EUDR: moving on from EUTR

Note: This webinar is based on the original CSRD and ESRS. Following the release of the Omnibus proposal on February 26, some information may no longer be accurate. We are currently reviewing and updating this webinar to reflect the latest regulatory developments. In the meantime, we recommend reading our Omnibus deep-dive for up-to-date insights on reporting requirements.

On 30 December 2026 EUDR replaces the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR). For companies placing wood, pulp, paper and in-scope packaging products on the EU market, the focus moves from legality alone to proof of deforestation-free sourcing, with plot-level geolocation and a due diligence statement for each placement.

For timber, paper and packaging importers, traders and manufacturers who already run EUTR due diligence and need to know what changes.

  • Check which of your wood, paper and packaging products fall under EUDR, and which do not
  • Reuse what works in your EUTR due diligence system and close the gaps
  • Collect geolocation data for timber supply chains
  • Plan the switch so your statements are ready for 30 December 2026
